Relaxed Weekend

By now, you must be aware that I am short on the Nifty on both STT and LTT. The STT becomes a buy i.e. I will cut my short position and go long at 5425. The LTT trigger still remains 5610.

I am sometimes tempted to write a normal daily note. Give details of which stocks were the highest gainers  and the maximum losers, the advance decline ratios and the divergence between Midcaps and large caps etc. But that would be easy and very boring. So let me talk about my weekend instead. It would not be less boring for you but much easier for me to write since I will not even have to collate market data to do that!

On Friday, Merkel came round to supporting the ECB on the Greece rollover business and hallelujah the world was saved and the markets reacted upwards.  Dollar fell and Euro rose. All was well with the world - at least for the weekend. (If all that was required for the world to be saved was a politician to say YES then it could have been done long back and with much less fuss)So I spent some time with the family, went for a nice dinner on Saturday and on Sunday rented a DVD and saw this movie "All about a BOY". Hugh Grant stars in that movie and if you like Brit humor then I strongly recommend it for a weekend viewing.

But a new week has started and new problems come to the fore. Luckily there is nothing crawling out of the woodwork(read statistics) in the US tonight. So analysts and markets can look forward to one more day of low activity.
