An Evening with Traderman Diaries

I had written in my note yesterday that I need to refresh myself and that I was planning on a relaxed evening at home watching a movie. One of my friends wrote back saying that I should read the Traderman diaries instead and that sounded like a good alternative. So here is his diary for the 3rd of November

12:20 p.m Dear Diary, you know that I have had a difficult time these last few days. The politicians do not know when to zip their lips.... Why don't they take a leaf out of Anna Hazare's book and maintain maun vrath (vow of silence) once in a while. I have a feeling that those b*****ds are beginning to enjoy the power they wield on the markets now.

12:33 p.m The Nifty is killing me. My sell has been triggered at 5226. My BUY levels are at 5273. That should not get triggered. But who the fck knows. These idiots can say something else and the markets could rally!! I am so stressed. Please I need some help now. Maybe a good lunch will help!

2:45 p.m  Sorry I must have dozed off. That lunch was heavy. Fck Fck Fck Looks like my short positions have been cut and I am long... I can see that the the Nifty is at 5280. How bad can this get? Long and then short on a daily basis!!!

2:53 p.m If this continues, I am out of a job! I better do something about this. Long back I had attended one Reiki session. Maybe I should try and do Reiki and see whether my trades improve!

3:00 p.m This Reiki thing seems to be working. The Nifty is now trading above 5300. If only I can make this Nifty go to 5600 without this gut wrenching volatility.

4:00 p.m Reiki is great! Maybe I should do Reiki and add in some affirmations too to improve my trading.

4:15 p.m This CNBC girl never calls me for an interview. May be Reiki can help there too?

4:38 p.m Fck, How stupid can I get??? Why settle only for an interview? I should aim big and "Reiki" her to come out for a coffee with me.

8:00 p.m S&P is up and SGX Nifty is trading at 5325.... this Reiki thing is great. I should have used it long back!!!   

9:00 p.m What should I wear tomorrow? A suit? That will be too formal. My best shirt is luckily ironed. Who knows? Best to be prepared. First impressions matter.

9:15 p.m I need to find a good coffee place near Worli. Four Seasons is near by. Maybe Hard Rock Cafe. Who knows I might get lucky!!!

Traderman seems to be in some trouble with his trading these days. He sounds different from his cocky days when he was making money and his friend was losing it in the market. But as the evening progressed his mood seems to have improved. I am sure the rally in the S&P helped. I am long too from 5274 levels. I will cut my long and go short below 5220. While Traderman follows his system and takes help from Reiki, affirmations and assorted esoteric methods to help him tide over these volatile times, I will only do one thing and that is to cut my exposure to half my normal levels.
