We have all heard of the heroic David vs Goliath battle. How David with his slingshot slayed the mighty and feared Goliath. Now picture not one but six Goliaths and one puny David without even his slingshot. How unequal would this battle be? That is the battle I am being forced to wage. Six Goliaths have put their minds together and in one unprecedented and coordinated action decided to wage a war against me-the puny David. Will David succeed in this battle of battles? The battle that will outlive every other one ever waged? I do not know the answer. But all I can promise is that the fight will be heroic.
I know that I cannot take the might of the Goliaths head on. I cannot win in a hand to hand combat. This battle will require a different kind of heroism and a different kind of strategy. It might involve me acting as if I have given up and cut my losses and fallen in line with their way of thinking. This should help me live to fight another day. It could also involve me joining them in their party for some time to recoup my losses and regain my strength. But finally when the time is ripe and the Goliaths have wasted their strength fighting inane battles at every corner of the earth, I, David, can rise again to slay them.
That was a nice story to write. But the fact is that I am going to be beaten to pulp today because I am short and the Nifty gap up itself should kill me. I will wait for the first one hour high to be crossed to cut my short position and go long.
