I got up in the morning an hour after the India Australia match started and promptly cursed myself and went back to sleep. That deep sleep meant that I have got up only at 8:30 and therefore need to prepare this musings on the fly and write something fast and yet fill up enough space to make it look like a note and not a sentence.
I have decided to therefore do what all strategists do that is take a long winded approach to say essentially only one thing. That thing which I intend to do is to make Nifty predictions. Predictions are the easiest thing to do. Everybody is interested in reading them and yet nobody really expects you to be right.
So my prediction for the day is that Nifty will open flattish and then recover to end higher for the day. My prediction for the month is that January will be a positive month. The prediction for the quarter is that this quarter will be a positive quarter. If all of these turn out to be right then you might actually ask for my annual prediction which is available to only the first 50 clients for a nominal fee:)
Actually, though I have written this most casually, there is at least some basis for what I have just said. The attached weekly chart of the Nifty shows a strong positive divergence on the Nifty and a follow through. If we cross 4850 then I am pretty much certain that these predictions could turn out to be all right.
BTW, I am long on the Nifty and will remain long until 4607 is broken.
